What makes a name tag readable
- The name should be the biggest thing on it. A badge is read from a few feet away, usually in a moment. Company names and job titles belong on the second line, smaller.
- Use the name people actually use. "Kate" beats "Katherine M. Whitfield" on a badge — the long version shrinks to fit and gets harder to read.
- Contrast beats decoration. Dark text on white reads at a distance; a busy background does not.

Why is the name not in handwriting?
Name tags get read from across a room, and a clean typeface is easier to read at a glance than a script one. Long names are also shrunk automatically so they stay on the badge instead of running off the edge.
Does what I type get sent anywhere?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser and there is no server behind it. What you type stays in the page and disappears when you close the tab.
