Why not screenshot a real post?

A real screenshot brings everything around it: your own sidebar, an ad, a cropped edge, and whatever width your window happened to be. This gives you the post on its own at a consistent size, which is what a slide or a mockup needs, and it lets you write the text.

Does my photo get uploaded?

No. Images are read from your own files with the browser's file reader and drawn into the preview. There is no server here to upload them to.

What size is the export?

1000 pixels wide, with the height following the content, rendered at twice the size shown so it stays sharp in a deck.

Can I use this to fake someone's post?

You can type anything, the same as any image editor, and that does not make it lawful. Putting invented words against a real person is defamation in most places. Use it for mockups, your own posts, and invented examples.
